Uni 44 Bento Street Food menu

Uni 44 Bento Street Food feels like a hidden gem tucked away at 6 Rue Saint‑Nicolas in the heart of Nantes, France, and the moment you walk up, you can tell this place is all about real, authentic Japanese flavor. From the street, the vibe is casual yet buzzing, with the smells of grilled skewers and fresh sushi drawing you in like you’ve stumbled onto a corner of Tokyo. What I love most is how welcoming the whole space feels - whether you’re grabbing takeout on a busy lunch break, sitting down for a chilled afternoon coffee, or lingering over small plates with friends, it just works.

Inside, the setup is simple and comfortable, but don’t let that fool you: the menu here packs character. Uni 44 Bento Street Food delivers a thoughtful mix of traditional Japanese bites that hits the sweet spot between comfort food and culinary discovery. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, which is awesome if you’re looking for something light or plant‑based without compromising on flavor. Alongside these, you’ll find small plates perfect for sharing, each one crafted with care so every bite feels fresh and bright. Pair your meal with a crisp beer or a glass of sake and it instantly turns into a fun, casual night out.

One of the coolest things about this spot is the outdoor seating area - it’s ideal when the weather’s nice and adds to that laid‑back street food culture they’re cultivating. Watching the world go by while you enjoy your bento box just makes the whole dining experience feel more relaxed and social. Service is friendly and easygoing, which matches the whole vibe of the place; you never feel rushed, even when it’s busy.

Whether you’re a local Nantes resident or just passing through, Uni 44 Bento Street Food is one of those places you’ll want to come back to because it feels familiar but still has surprises on the menu that keep you curious.
